I'm am looking for a keyboard piano, not looking to spend more than 600$ Please help! I like weighted keys but they are not important enough for me to pay crazy amounts of money for them. I currently play classical music so I would like something I can use for that, NOT having to be plugged into anything. But I also am very interested in making electro/industrial music ( kind of Nine Inch Nails/Crystal Castles style, if you know those bands ) So something that can ALSO be plugged into a computer and used with synth programs would be lovely. Please recommend a good piano to me! Please and thank you.

If you play classical music, you will deeply regret it if you don't get a keyboard with weighted keys. There are lots of weighted keyboards available at under $600.

My favorite choice would be something within the casio priva line like their first privia model the px130

Here's an even cheaper casio model I like. This keyboard, though it can connect to a computer, does not have a usb connector. It requires a midi to usb interface which I will also link.

I don't recommend that yamaha ypg 235 someone else recommended unless you first go and test it out at guitar center. It's not a really a fully weighted keyboard. Actually, I'd recommend going to guitar center and testing out a bunch of keyboards cause sound is subject and you may find yourself not liking the sound of something someone else likes.

I recommend buying used on craigslist or ebay to save money. Keyboards seem to last a long time (at least from my experience). If you want to save money, I'd pick a keyboard that has built in speakers - but built in speakers rarely sound as good as separate ones. So in general, I'd look for a used weighted keyboard, built-in speakers, usb/midi, and 88-keys.

Hi their PS. I always used to recommend Yamaha to anyone wanting to look at Piano/Keyboards before making their decision. I can no longer do so as they changed their website and turned it into dogs vomit. If your not sure what I mean, just have a look. It still has the same address: yamahapkclub. When you get inside you will see what I mean about changing things around. You will not be able to find anything unless you have the exact Model Number of what your looking for. You didn't need all that before as everything was staring you in the face. Here's another piece of dirty crap they pulled. There is now no direct email to yamaha itself, So you cant contact them. If your not sure what I'm talking about, just have a look. Sorry, but I cannot recommend yamaha anymore........Eric.

I currently have a Korg TR61, which is $1000 and more for electronic music. But for about 3 years I used a Yamaha DGX Portable Grand. It doesn't have weighted keys, but sounds stupendous for the price. I got mine for about $300, but I'm sure the price has dropped by now. If you're looking for a quality keyboard/piano for a good ratio of price to sound, I'd recommend looking into that one. :)
