dylan was one of the first artists - if not the first - to politicise music. Themes in dylan's songs include racism, criticism of vietnam and of war, of society and its failings. Dylan spoke up at a time when America was most conservative and he really risked being rejected for his views. Dylan opened a door for other musicians to speak up about what they saw as wrong with the government and society.
Dylan's song 'hurricane' is a classic song about racism and injustice. When i listen to it it makes me angry that good people are being kept down and alienated by a system and society that judges according to race and how much you earn.
Dylan truly is a legend.
