I need to know the value of 5 old record albums.?

Question

All 5 are in great condition given their age and being used.

1. Rocky Horror Picture Show picture disk soundtrack album

2. Direstraits 1978 Warner Bros. Prod. promo album with pic/song words sleeve

3. George Thorogood - the destroyers- promo- MCA records 1979

4. Tom Petty - Damn the torpedos - promo - MCA records 1979

This last one I have I never heard of this group before

5. Hotel - 123 - MCA records - Promo - 1979 with sleeve and an extra seperate sheet of paper one side with the song words other side with a band pic

any ideas?

Sell them on Ebay ..start them off at about 7.99 and see what happens.

Old records are hard to price and depend on a lot of things.

Like coins, some people will be glad just to have a certain one in their collection and others want it to be perfect. Even 1 scratch through normal use can bring the price down sharply.



Odd enough, in many cases the value isnt even in the record, there are a lot of people that collect the album covers for the artwork.

One factor that is not in your favor is the fact that 4 out of 5 of your records are Promos. That kills any album art value and legally you cant sell those albums. Promos say right on them not for sale or resale.



Your only non promo is Rocky Horror and you can buy that for around $5-10

The Rocky Horror Picture Show one may have more value since it's a cult classic, but most albums like you have can go for anywhere from $10 to $30 depending on how bad someone wants them.

type these in on ebay and see how much they ar going for, and if there a lot or just a few for sale. this should give you a close estimate!

go to ebay and compare what u have to whats up for auction. Thats what pawn shops and collectors do.
