So I recently got a free piano that is old and beat down. some keys do not work and moreover, the action parts are not in tact anymore, other than that its in decent shape. Its an upright Stodart Player Piano. My question is if I should just buy a new one or put my money into fixing this old piano? By the way, my budget is no more than $400. Please let me know what would be the best choice. Thanks.

Well if u live near a second hand store u can see how much the will give you for your piano and if they dont offer a reasonable price try another shop

I would sell that piano and then by a new one with the money from the old one and that $400.
