Simple Plan songs are great for when you're down...

Face Down - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

A Little Bit Longer - Jonas Brothers (dont knock it right away - it can be about any time when others are trying to help but they dont really understand)

The Last Night - Skillet

Comatose - Skillet

Fighting - Yellowcard

pretty much any foreign screamo/rock, i like Maximum the Hormone, they're a japanese band.

Third Eye Blind's self titled album (from 1996) helped me through a lot of hard times in my life... and I know people will make fun of it, but Creed's My Own Prison was helpful too. And check out Mighty Joe Plum's Happiest Dogs... And listen to some Whiskeytown or Ryan Adams (Gold or Heartbreaker)... Lucinda Williams is good too...

What a Good Boy (song) - by Barenaked Ladies is the only individual song that I can think of... unless you count Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit.

But try finding something that makes you happy... the Beatles always help me out!

It is my favorite and it really helped me through hard times, like the ones you're describing.. I could especially really relate to some parts of the lyrics like

"I wanna stand up, I wanna let go, you know , you know, NO YOU DON'T YOU DON'T" , because it's about how you feel that no one can really understand what you're going through, even if they say(or pretend) they do..

"Help me out, yeah you know you've got to help me out, don't you put me on the backburner, you know you've got to help me out..." because it described how bad I needed some help as soon as possible..

"I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" because I really felt that I was not so strong, as the others expected me to be..

Also

"This River Is Wild" by The Killers is good for what you requested(you can see lyrics AND MEANING-the one that makes sense to you-in the link I will put below)

Especially this part of the song:

"Or should I just get along with myself, I never did get along with everybody else, I've been trying hard to do what's right..."
