Question:
What synth would you recommend?

I would like to purchase a synthesiser keyboard, whith good bass but also great leads, it needs to be sturdy, and my budget is about £700. I've looked at a few, mainly the Roland Ax-Synth, the MicroKorg and the Alesis Micron. Which synth would you recommend, and are there any you would recommend that I haven't mentioned?

Within your budget, I would suggest you also check out the Roland Gaia SH-01, Waldorf Blofeld (keyboard version), and the M-Audio Venom. There's also the Roland Juno-Di, but I've heard mixed reviews about it's onboard sounds and it's more of a preset machine really, as opposed to being a proper synth like the first three I mentioned.

The less expensive Korgs seem to be less edgy and more scoring. Yamaha's sounds seem more modern. I own both. Listen to a Yamaha Mox6, light to carry around but rigid, before making a decsiion. Id stay away from Alesis.

Well, a Moog is definately not in the budget.

***EDIT***

A used Nord Lead or Nord Wave perhaps?
