Question:
Should I play the drums?

Okay, so I used to dance but I quit and now I wanna try something new :) I have already tried playing the piano (a few years) but then quit, I then tried the guitar but quit after a few months. So I wanna play the drums but I'm kinda nervous because a set is expensive and I want to make sure its something I stick to. I like challenges and am told I have a good rhythm sense. But I did dance for 6 years and gymnastics and ice skating for 3-ish so I don't quit everything the only reason i quit dance is because it was a hard time in my life and I was dancing competitively (26 hours a week). List pros and cons please :) oh but space isn't an issue because I have a lot11 Thanks!!

You should do whatever you feel like doing it's good to try new things,

I've played the drums, piano, and I also dance it's all very fun,i've only been playing the drums for 4 years now and the only thing I would say is put it in a place where no one can hear you because everytime I use to play people would complain and it was hard for me to practice and get better with people always telling me to shut up,but yeah try something new it's fun!

You might be less likely to quit the drums as fast as you did the other instruments. Drums are one of the easier instruments to start, but it can be frustrating to master. I started out thinking "this drum thing is gonna be easy as hell" since I caught on real fast. It's just that you'll hit a lot of walls learning to play drums, it takes a lot of determination. It paid off for me, I've been drumming for 2 years now and I have improved a great deal; there is no reason why you couldn't do the same.

Drums are fun to play! However you have to take into consideration that having a set is gonna make a lot of noise when you practice. Also, with drums you can't really play music like guitar&piano-- you're gonna be practicing on playing in time & with different beats to the music. However, as a drummer myself, I gotta say it's worth a shot (:

Maybe you should start off with a set of drum pads to see how you like it. They're relatively cheap and great for practice. Also spend a lot of time listening to good drummers and trying to mimic what they do. I love the drums in this new band Future Games. Maybe give them a listen:

Oh, yes -- you should indeed play the drums.

Girls just look so good when the do.

The way they hold those big, long sticks ---and when their body throbs and bounces --- it's just really hot.
