Okay, so i can't read sheet music at all. I usually just watch youtube videos of people playing songs and learn from that. I have sheet music for the song Shooting Star by Air Traffic, but i can't play it unless i have the notes written out in letter form (like EDCE or something). So if anyone wants to do me a favor and convert it, please let me know. Unfortunately, i can only show the sheet music through email...if you'd like to help just email me. Thanks!

I use a software that display all the notes in a virtual piano for any song, using MIDI. Is Synthesia.

Download Synthesia: http://www.synthesiagame.com/getTheGame.aspx

Search the WEB for the song you like to learn in http://www.midisite.co.uk/ and download the MIDI file of the song.

Open the MIDI in Synthesia and click several times in the button on the bottom-right of the screen. It will show you a keyboard and the notes you need to press in the piano. Use the arrow keys to slow down or make it faster.

I made a video showing the concept, watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LYSVjFU3Jw or you can write “Synthesia” in YouTube and see the program in action.

im not sure i understand. i looked at the pieces, but im not sure what you mean to 'convert to basic keyboard'. the two parts i looked at looked BASIC. i would suggest that you just write the notes next to them if you're having trouble. when i think about simplifying music the page would first be black with notes filling it, please see the below link for black. as far as reading sheet music its very easy, its like counting literally. all you have to know is that the SPACE between the first two bottom lines for the top bar is F, and the LINE between the two dots on the bottom bars is also F. just count up for down (F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F) and just going until you get low enough or high enough. good luck.

One of the best sites for learning piano online is https://tr.im/PianoForAll

This is one of those rare sites that offers the most detailed, expert piano lessons for absolutely free. Just reading through the lessons, you get the sense that you’re sitting beside an actual piano teacher who really knows their stuff. Each session includes text, keyboard images to help you visualize what the teacher is talking about

Maybe I am hearing you say that you want to turn your "keyboard" into a musical keyboard so you can play the music through your typing skills instead of some instrument.

I think it can be done. I too, would be interested in such a way to relay ;music. Some people type much faster with scripted than with translating a note into a Hand/Finger coordination. But the same could be achieved with a keyboard. Try this though until then, http://scorecloud.com/
