I add all these songs to my library but it doesn't let me listen to them or ever play them. It only lets me click on shuffle play and then it just plays a random song from that genre not even a random song from the ones that are in my queue am I doing something wrong?

I have the same problem. The people who made spottily clearly are Jewish..... There is honestly no way to fix it unless you buy premium. When It plays a song from the genre I think you might be in the album of that particular song, maybe go back to playlists and click on your playlist and try shuffle again? Also a thing to add is on IPad spotify seems to work a lot better as if the premium is free or somethingz. Highly recommend you get it for iPad because you can choose whatever song you want to play on demand for free

It is a very limited streaming service. What my personal issue with Spotify and other services like Rdio and Pandora is they advertise themselves as "radio of everything" (They don't have everything). Another issue is they prioritize the pop industry's music over the underground, just like commercial public radio does.

If a person were truly serious about hunting for music, they wouldn't solely rely on services like Spotify and Rdio. To hunt for music with ease, all one needs is five things: their brain, their ears, their eyes, spare time, and the internet.

You need to upgrade to premium to be able to select the song you would like to listen to. But if you are not willing to spend money on premium then shuffle is available, plus it adds in similar songs to the ones you have selected on your playlist. Hope this helped.
