Here are some of my favorite artists and my favorite songs by them. I would like to know if anybody my age (15) likes this kind of music. Please respond even if you're not my age, and if you like this music as well, feel free to make suggestions for new listens. Also, if you think my tastes are "oldschool" or "my parents' music", please explain why this is so and why you do not appreciate this kind of music. I am always open to new ideas, and I always enjoy food for thought.

Song - Artist
The Championship - The Polyphonic Spree
While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles
Band on the Run - Wings
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix band
Everything's Just Wonderful - Lily Allen
Double Violin Concerto - J.S. Bach
Hotel California - the Eagles
Not Fade Away - Rolling Stones (greatful dead version is better in my opinion)
London Calling - The Clash
Armchair Apocrypha - Andrew Bird
RE: your brains - Jonathan Coulton
Kelly's Blues - Wynton Kelly
Tribute - Tenacious D
Not Yet - John Coltrane
Imagine - John Lennon
Penguins - Lyle Lovett
Tonight You Belong to Me - Patience and Prudence
Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
Flight 180 - Bishop Allen
To the dogs or whoever - Josh Ritter
The Entertainer - Billy Joel
Fa-fa-fa - Datarock
Walking on the Moon - The Police
Desire - U2
You Can Count on Me - Spyro Gyra
I Know Your Name - Lemon Demon
Testify - Rage Against The Machine
Paridise City - Guns 'n Roses
Myriad Harbor - New Pornographers
Welcome to Paridise - Green Day
Viva La Vida - Coldplay
Jessica - Allman Brothers Band

Also, as a footnote, my most listened to generalized genre on my Zune is rock (which includes classic rock, metal, indie, psychedelic, etc) but the genre of which I have the most songs, and a close second in listens, is Jazz (including classic, smooth, big band, avant garde, etc), so even though my top listens are mostly rock, I LOVE jazz, both because of its incredible sound, deep meaning and nostalgic purposes (Jazz was my first musical love.

Well, I'm 17 and I like a lot of that stuff. As far of the older bands I only really listen to The Beatles, Allman Brothers, Paul McCartney and the Wings and The Clash on your list but for the most part I like a lot of the same stuff. In fact I've seen Johnathan Coulton in concert (in Toronto). I like Polyphonic Spree (Hold Me Now is my fav track) and Coldplay (Tie between Viva La Vida and Rush of Blood to the Head for best album- I know Viva la vida is way overplayed, but it is genius), New Pornographers i sometimes like and somtimes don't, depends on whose singing etc. but myriad harbor is a good one. Lemon demon is listened to by the vast majority of people with a youtube account whether your age group or not :P

I just noticed don't stop believing was on your list. I secretly love this song despite myself. Like, if you don't love it, you don't have a soul.

Lily Allen I quite like, especially her new album.

I agree with the last comment I listen to a lot of indie stuff (Ben Gibbard is sort of my soul mate) like death cab, stars, bedouin soundclash (though i guess they aren't "indie" anymore :P, new pornographers, rogue wave) and some older stuff like the Smiths, Kansas, The Runaways etc.

But yeah, don't worry, your music selection is not totally out there for your age group, I listen to a lot of the same stuff I did two years ago :)

Yeah, I love that kind of stuff- I'm the school's indie kid basically. The New Pronographers, Tenacious D, and Death Cab for Cutie are huge favorites of mine. Glad to see another fan. :D
