I have few general question's and wanted to know opinion. I am learning to make Ambient music, especially dark ambient.
The story is: Once i uploaded Lustmords, and many other producers dark ambient musics on youtube, and after ~3 months there was 10 000 watches and ~100 likes, and no dislikes!!
After another months i uploaded other ambient, but in the same month youtube baned my videos for copyright.. I didnt broke any rules but it happened.. So in that time i was very sad for a while, and I decided to start making my own dark ambient.. And i really know what is good dark ambient! I know how it affects human toughs, psichology..

But the questions are:
It is worth to Make and sell Dark Ambient music?
Do someone lessens or are interested in it?

Just tell me it is worth or not to make larger project or not. because for me it can sond good, but for most of people it could be crap.. Thanks 4 your time..

Yeah, though make the music because YOU enjoy it, not because you hope others will buy it. Dark ambient music is an INCREDIBLY niche genre and let's just make clear you're not going to be getting rich anytime soon. I mean, trance is a much more popular genre that ambient, yet to get into the Beatport curent top 10, you only need about 95 sales per week - 90% of these 'top 10' tunes are shitty as well...it wouldn't surprise me if labels were almost buying their way into the top 50 (15 sales) in order to gain exposure and hope more people buy it...

Anyway, the point is, you will do well to make any kind of money out of it. The problem with trance is that it's an incredibly saturated market...I download about 200 of my favourites monthly, but can only afford to buy 25. Maybe that could be an advantage for you producing ambient: there's less alternatives out there.

As with anything relating to the music industry, if you're not in the top, like, .01% at least, you'll be making less than minimum wage. It's almost certainly not worth it, from a time commitment/monetary reward standpoint. If you like doing it, and it doesn't impede the rest of your life, then it could be very worthwhile to you. It all depends on what you're expecting from it. If it's money, you're probably going to be disappointed.

You said, "i uploaded Lustmords, and many other producers", which sounds like you did not actually create the music, perform the music or record the music. That would make you a copyright infringer, which is 100 percent in "violation of the rules". You could be sued for up to $150,000 for each song.
