First would be Atlantic Records, founded by Armet Ertigan. Great portrayal in the movie "Ray". First studio to have an 8 track recorder. Tom Dowd as the first engineer/producer. First Led Zepplin album.
Second would be A&M Records. Founded by Herb Albert and Jerry Moss. A&M. Established a state of the art facility to record, mix and master the best recordings.

Chess, for specific. My series includes numerous double LPs interior the Chess Masters sequence: Bo Diddley - 2, John Lee Hooker - a million, Muddy Waters - 3, Jimmy Rogers -a million, Little Walter -a million, Sonny Boy Williamson II - a million, and Howlin' Wolf - 3. it is beside albums by or featuring those and different artists who recorded on Chess. besides as your different labels, Detroit-era Motown for one merits a point out. BQ The Chess Masters albums are all indispensible, however the mind-blowing Chess CD is a sensible compilation.
