This is more of an opinion question. If you had to compare the sound of a snare drum to say something in nature, an animal or even something mechanical what would you say it sounds like or could be represented by? For example a tuba is low, heavy and slow so a heavy slow animal like an elephant could represent it.

A snare drum should be basically treble-lish when it comes to pitch. We represent it by saying "Pak" or "Tak". (bass drum usually with "Boom" or "Tum") Like saying Boom boom PAK boom booboom TAK.

To represent further,

Mechanical: Mouse click, Spoon and Fork collision, Stapler sound. Any big key on you keyboard like Space or Enter.

Something like that.

While on Nature/Animals:

Dog's bark, Lightning strike, A pebble that hits a calm water, Chicken scratching its feet to the ground, Flapping of a large bird's wing.

Just think outside of the box.

Wow, that's tough. Mechanical: a train. Nature: a dog panting after a long run.

Good luck with whatever project you're working on. Sounds fun!

That's like asking what Dr. Pepper tastes like.
