AFI's latest album "Decemberunderground" comes out on 06/06/06 and the whole thing seems to have a very creepy/mysterious aura to it.

The band is using three black rabbits, legs out-stretched, forming a cirle as their logo. Check it out here: http://www.afireinside.net/downloads/wallpapers/afi_wp_1.jpg And in the video for "Miss Murder" has black rabbits in it. I was wondering if anybody knew any of the symbolism behind this, if there is any at all.

Thanks.

Black rabbits mean fear or death, but that symbol reminds me of watership down. However, they likely have this thing with Cthulu and the Shub Niggorath festival, or perhaps a Donnie Darko reference.

Update: Okay, there is a site that explains the reason in great detail. Dave is chinese zodiac a rabbit and therefore on his last life. The three has to do with him and the 37 is about the deeds for nirvana.

Well, rabbits are usually seen as a fluffy little creature that is nice and kind. Black is more of a demonic color so when you combine the two, you have a corrupted rabbit! Plus, afi is a pretty emo band, so them taking something nice and making it dark should not suprise anyone.

ugh... i hate attempts by bands to appear smart. it's the same reason that you hear songs with lines with no rhythmic cadenses and prose for lyrics. l;aksdjf;lakjd
