I know this is question you alway see, and it all comes down to personal taste as they both have their pros and cons
but i'm just starting out with synths (i'm leaning towards the mirockorg) and plan on getting one of these, so any imput would be great

Well, I've been thinking about the same thing for some time and I could find only one answer: buying them both (hehe). I live in Brazil so I had to be patient until I found both synths for a good price. The first one I found was the microKORG, which I bought around two months ago and, mate, I’ve gotta tell you, I absolutely love it. It's really powerful and got huge fat sounds. It's perfect for bass sounds, it offers beautiful arpeggios and, even with its limited polyphony, it's great for ethereal and trippy pads. There's one thing in it that people really complain about: the mini keyboard - those little keys are really strange, but I was soon used to them, so no problem at all. I ordered a Micron (still eagerly waiting it to be delivered), because I believe it to be better for delicate, soft and complex sounds and, besides, it has great features that the microKORG doesn't have, such as a built-in sequencer and lovely drum kits. My intention is to have only these two synths when playing live with my band, because they’re so small and easy to carry around. Since you’ve said you’re starting out with synthesizers, I believe the Micron is a better first choice for you, because it has normal-sized keyboard, much more preset sounds and other cool features (sequencer, drum kits, setups, etc) that you could practice. Well, that's it. Sorry for any English mistakes, it's not my language. And good luck on your choice, by the way.

Why not download some soft synths, vsti, and use them with a midi keyboard controller and and a DAW like Cubase or Cakewalk. I do fancy a Bloefeld though.
