Come up with the melody. Sing out loud how you would like the meoldy line (notes) of the song to be sung. Then, if you don't read/write music, you can have any piano player build chords around your melody and you can write them out.

Record yourself singing the song (no matter how bad you sound), on a tape and give it to someone who plays the piano.
